Card of the Day – Queen of Swords

Queen-of-Swords-editThe queen of swords is based on the statue of Athena Parthenos, the Athena that stood in the ancient Greek Parthenon. Athena is said to be motherless, born out of the forehead of Zeus. She guided Perseus in his quest to behead Medusa and assisted Hercules in skinning the Nemean Lion, defeating the Stymphalian Birds, and capturing the three-headed dog, Cerberus.

In short, she was a smart and emotionally mature guide. This is the quality of the Queen of Swords, who is the watery part of air, or the emotional part of intelligence. She is the very picture of emotional intelligence, and is willing to help you at this time to draw yourself up and attend the trials that come to you with wisdom and emotional maturity.
