Card of the Day: 4 of Swords

4-of-swords-editThe card for today is the 4 of Swords, the card of rest from strife. The statue is based on the statue of The Sleeping Girl in Athens, Greece created in 1877 by Giannoulis Chalepasthe. The statue depicts Sofia Afentaki, a girl who died at the age of 18 from Tuberculosis. While she has certainly come to a final resting place from her strife, this card means only that you have the opportunity to withdraw from the trouble you’ve been in, or have been witnessing. This withdrawal from the situation may be voluntary or it may seem involuntary. Either way, please have awareness and realize that because of the jolly ruler of the planets Jupiter is  in equalizing and balancing Libra, you have an opportunity to rest and restore yourself.

Three swords are pointing down, and are not in readiness for fighting. One sword has become decoration for the place of rest. The swords used here are still sharp and still have their edge. They can be made ready, but they are at peace now, encouraging much needed rest and recuperation.
