Happy independence day!

image08Card for the day: VII The Chariot

For those of us living in the United States, there is a holiday today: Independence Day.  Usually the cards of the day are chosen more or less at random, but today I chose the Chariot as a representative of our independence. The Star Field over the chariot reminds us of the star field on our own flag, but the symbol of the chariot goes much deeper. The astronaut travels to unchartered territories, even the bleak vastness of space. His chariot, like our nation itself, is drawn by the sphynx of mystery. The space suit of the astronaut protects him and makes it possible to travel places others can’t be.
